Registerfly DNS problems

There we go again, all registerfly DNS servers are down today all day. Their super relaxed support apologized politely, and mentioned that it would be fixed in the next 3-6 hours. That was 7 hours ago.

The affected servers are the new Registerfly servers, the ones they forced you to use when renewed, the ones that lost all YOUR DNS settings, and they did not tell you about that until you noticed that your sites were down.

Anyway these servers are dns1.registerfly.com dns2.registerfly.com and dns3.registerfly.com

The old .NAME-SERVICES.COM servers are working at this time.

Anyway, time to move those damn servers somewhere else.

Cache poisoning - dirty SEO

I am looking at my logs on my sites and see very strange referrers from search engines pointing to nonexistent pages on my sites that generate pages from databases and use mod_rewrite (or similar techique) to create search engine friendly urls.

Here is an example how it works - in case you haven't seen or used pages like this:

When you enter a URL e.g. http://domain.tld/whatever_product-review.html it is translated
by the webserver into e.g. reviews.php?product=whatever product

How does that pose a danger and give a perfect way for the evil webmasters to have your site results completely messed up?

Maximum number of stores raised

Just a tiny change: the maximum number of sites or stores that can be added to one account has been raised to 15 form the previous 10.

Of course that does not limit the number of sites you sign-up for and activate from the predefined stores (mostly pharmacies at this time), only the ones from RXPayouts, BillRx, APN, MPLLC and custom sites.

Any ideas, we are open always for new ideas and also working on some Herbal stuff to integrate it into the stores and prices section.

Misspell tool for PPC campaigns

I just put a fun little script online that can generate common mistype misspellings of words from a tab or newline separated list. There are some simple options to it.

Please note that it uses a script to generate missing letters, letter changes and nearby letter/key mistype errors and the generator does not itself have a built in database.

You can find the little tool here: Misspell generator.
Please also read the notes in our Tools section on why you should not use this tool for search engine optimization techniques or to generate search engine spam.

Problems fixed

2 problems were solved today :
when uploading prices, the program required a dot to be present in the price field. Now it is not checked.
When uploading prices with CR at the end, the menu got messed up, because the program did not chop off excess characters at the end. Now uploads work perfectly.

Same problem with the CR was found with Bill RX, and it has been corrected as well, so you can get these prices automagickally.

Fixes, updates

I had to fix a little glitch in menu generation today, all products appeared in "Others" category due to a missing "!" in the SQL query.

I also noticed a javascript error in the price table function. When no product was defined, the script kept returning an error in explorer. I also fixed that, that was due to a missing "}" by the way.

I should code maybe a bit less per day. Anyway problems fixed now.

New feature: you can test our Blog/News editor. It generates an Rss feed (that currently does not validate due to a dam extra field I added (I called it LSUMMARY). Well that happens when you try to expand standards. On the other hand 3rd party RSS readers just ignore the tag but feedvalidator still does not like it.

Mpllc / HSN product translations added

Mpllc / HSN just added Tramaden, Hoodia, Lipitor and Zocor to their list of products. I just added the new products from HSN Mpllc to the translation table, so you can now list the new products on your sites.

Technical:
For the price auto-get feature to work for certain private label affiliate shopping cart systems it is necessary to maintain a translation table.

That table tells the program, that trama_610_60 is Tramaden so your menu cand price tables can be generated from that information.

Almost ready

Our site is almost ready to roll out.
Menu generator, custom categories, price tables and price uploads are 100% working.
Directory is functional but relatively empty, descriptions are missing especially in the gaming section.

Todo: banner generator, ad generator, code cleanup.
Ohh, clean up / finish seotracker code.

Post it here and there and get it going :).

Alpha testing and going on line

Well, this is really now an alpha test of the site, however due to interest from some friends,I put the site accessible.

What works: well almost nothing. Site news and other sections are barely set up, feed editor is in wrecks, however you can enter your pharma ids into the backend, and have some price tables and custom banners generated.

The tracking software piece is ugly as hell, but getting functional.

Feeds are up, but no links... as I said it is just for testing.
