Commission Junction Deactivated account
I never had a good feeling about Commission Junction or CJ. Not after I tried contacting them about repeated failures to sign up to an affiliate partner (with some completely unusable error message). They were unresponsible. Not after some people I know had their accounts suspended without any notice and were locked out and never got an answer why.
And today... my account is gone too.

Effective 10:00am EST on Wednesday, November 30, 2005, eDrugstore.md has been forced to temporarily suspend sales operations. This suspension was caused by the government's recent, widespread and quick action to prohibit credit card processors the ability to support the Online Pharmacy Industry by processing its merchant transactions. Therefore, we have temporarily lost our ability to process credit card transactions. We are in the vigorous process our finalizing alternative transaction processing options with alternative suppliers. We anticipate this process to be a very short one and expect to be back online quickly.

Well that is just so bad.
Pharmacy credit card processing troubles
You might have noticed some carts that are down, or some reduction in your daily commissions. Wondering why?
Several stores that ship medications got their merchant accounts closed by different processing companies, leaving the pharmacies without a processor at all, or making them rely on the usually unreliable COD shipping or the terribly slow check payments.
I think we will see more COD pharmacyes to pop up or ones that accept wire and check payments in the near future, and the ones that use credit cards will be probably experiencing a price hike if they have to go the offshore processing way, the way casinos survived for the last 5 years.
These offshore merchants usually work on a high commission and have a huge rolling reserve.
What does it mean to the affiliate?
Less commission, less approved orders, more space to shave here and there. More COD shipments though (as it is very popular) but more that you will never see a commission for, because many users just order and then refuse to pay the package.
It sucks to be a pharmacy affiliate today, but do not be worried, I heard it 5 years ago that "today is tha last day of online casinos" and 5 years passed since.
Well if all pharmacies move offshore, it will mean higher processing, most lost packages, and less and less and less commission.
Anyway I am immersed in news right now and will post updates if I know more.

If you have a unified logging you can spot something like this easily, otherwise I suggest you run these on your logs

Yes it is something called a Konqueror Morphbot and it is snooping on your machines and makes lists of something for someone.
Interesting bit is a hit to all domains looking for /img1big.gif a supposedly dangerous gif that spreads some kind of trojan. This bot was hitting my servers in waves disobeying robots.txt or anything common sense.
It is unacceptable and I am rejecting all traffic from their C block immediately on all of my servers.

Another new provider for today - Bill Rx
An other pharmacy was added, with full price-get support to our system. This private label pharmacy system is using the market leader shopping cart - private label system that powers RXP sites.
Their product selection is almost identical, and before you ask them: no there is no relation between the two programs (I talked to the affiliate manager, and he explained that it is only the same software that comes with the same templates). Yes the templates have some identical pieces of text, but phone numbers and the graphics are different. Do not forget to SEO them so they do not fall into the RXP affilaite SEO template bin.
PHP/javascript, PHP/XML and ASP templates are available for free to download.

New pharmacy program announcement
Pharmgroup announced it's new "set your own prices" private label pharmacy
affiliate program.
Your base prices are dependent on sale volume and unlike other programs, it is adjusted weekly automatically.
Product selection is not extremely good, but their good base prices allow the affiliate to set competitive end user prices and still make a decent profit.
Soon the program will be added to our autofetch feature.

RXP drugs followup
Yes, the 101 drugs have been added to all RXP templates, well not 101 dufferent ones, but a bunch, and with all the different doses and quantities make it 101.
They did not seem to mention, but I can see a lot of new templates as well, SSL/XML and the traditional kinds too.
